Portugal – a brief guidebook” de Walter Osswald

want to access the particularly unique treasures of the Cistercian tradition
while visiting Portugal. To help discovering these magnificent monasteries and
their remarkably rich contribution to Portuguese culture, tradition and way of
life. This guide presents a brief overview of every Cistercian monastery in
Portugal -- almost thirty -- using a com- parison scale with a set number of
arches (from 5 to 1) to provide an approximate indication of their respective
importance. It also indicates its precise location and offers practical advice on
how each of them might be reached and visited.

Osswald é Professor catedrático aposentado da Faculdade de Medicina da
Universidade do Porto, dedica-se à Bioética e aos estudos cistercienses. Autor
de mais de 500 títulos, é doutor honoris causa pela Universidade de Coimbra e
foi agraciado com várias ordens honoríficas. É detentor da Cátedra Unesco de
Bioética. [Retired Professor of the Porto University Faculty of Medicine.
Author of over 500 titles, he is Doctor Honoris Causa of Coimbra University and
has also been awarded with several honorary orders. It hold the Unesco Chair in
Bioethics.]
